I have been carved by a Palestinian family in Bethlehem. They have been carvers and dealers in high-class souvenirs for years - anyone who has wandered round Manger Square will recognise the name The Holy Land Arts Museum.

Visitor numbers are down these days and anyone in the tourist business (which most people are) is short of work. So when you buy me, you'll also be helping a struggling carver (and family).

I hope that if a poor, humble, Smiling Camel like me can interest (even amuse) people, especially foreigners, perhaps they will think about - and even do something about - the situation in the Occupied Territories and Gaza.

Nobody wants violence, ask any Palestinian or Israeli, and everyone craves for peace. Can a Smiling Camel help? Well, let's see.
